7 questions to ask before booking thermography
Know who you’ll meet, what the appointment includes, and what happens afterward. Bring these questions to your first conversation.
Before booking, ask who captures the images, which areas are included, how privacy and preparation work, who interprets the images, and what follow-up is included. You can have that conversation before choosing a time.

Finding a practice online is only the first step. Before reserving a thermography appointment, a short conversation can help you understand the experience, what you are paying for, and what questions the service can and cannot answer.
Use the following checklist when speaking with a practice. We have included LiveWell’s details so you can plan a visit to our Gallatin office, but the questions are also useful when comparing other providers.
1. Who will take my images?
Ask for the technician’s name, relevant training, and role during the appointment. At LiveWell, your technician is Olivia Piana, CTT. She founded the practice and has worked with Breast Thermography International since 2019.
That is different from the professional who interprets the completed image set. Knowing who handles each part of the service makes it easier to direct your questions. Meet Olivia and read her story.
2. Which areas are included?
Ask for the actual coverage rather than relying on a session name. LiveWell offers breast, torso, and full-body options. Each one has a defined imaging area.
If a particular body area is the reason for your inquiry, name it when you call. Our coverage comparison article explains how the three options differ. A larger session describes more imaging coverage, not a guarantee of more useful information for your situation.
3. How will changing, privacy, and positioning work?
Ask what you will need to remove and how the technician explains each view. If certain movements are uncomfortable, or you have an access concern, discuss that before selecting a time.
You can also ask to have the process explained before imaging begins. A clear answer about privacy and positioning may be more reassuring than a general promise that the visit is “easy.”
4. What preparation do I need to plan for?
Get the instructions early enough to arrange your day. Review them against exercise, work, appointments, and your travel plans. If something conflicts, contact the practice before arrival.
For LiveWell, start with the preparation guide and follow the specific instructions sent with your appointment. Mention medically necessary treatments or garments instead of changing them yourself.
5. Who interprets the images, and when will I hear back?
Ask whether interpretation is included, how the report is delivered, and who explains it. At LiveWell, sessions include professional review, a digital report, and a 15-minute results consultation with a qualified thermology professional. Reports are typically available within 3–7 business days.
You should also know what to do with questions that remain after that conversation. Learn what LiveWell’s report includes.
6. What does the booking commitment include?
Check the session details, any deposit, and the cancellation policy before confirming. Ask what happens if your schedule changes or you cannot meet the preparation instructions.
LiveWell’s current options are on the booking page, with the terms explained in the cancellation policy. Reading them before you reserve a time avoids relying on an old post or remembered price.
7. What can thermography not tell me?
A practice should be clear about the limits. Thermography does not diagnose or rule out cancer and does not replace mammography or other recommended medical care. For a new symptom or a screening decision, speak with a licensed healthcare professional.
At LiveWell, you can ask appointment questions without committing to a session. Request a conversation with Olivia before visiting our office inside Life Charge Chiropractic in Gallatin.
